360degrees

360degrees360degrees 'Perspectives on the U.S. Criminal Justice System' creates a space where people with diverse stories and experiences can come together to share their experiences and opinions and engage in a productive dialogue about the increasing numbers of incarcerated Americans. 360degrees hosts a circular 'cell'-based interface that could only be done effectively with Flash, however, it's worth saying the HTML site is also pleasantly produced.... a-hum

a-humThis project introduces stories of Brahmi (ancient Sanskrit letters) in a format that combines visual art, music and the latest web technology. The navigation is perfectly minimal and the delivery of this editorial is purposely deliberate and slow; be prepared for slowly evolving photography that is, however, worth the wait. The conceptual inspiration of the project is rooted in Buddhist philosophy and is intended to deliver a message on tolerance, compassion and the nature of being. AIGA Design Archives

AIGA Design ArchivesThe ultimate collection of awarded designs, the AIGA Archives are the recorded catalog of annual juried selections in design excellence. Featuring 3,269 hand-picked entries (at this posting) from the '365' annuals dating back to 1994 (issue no. 15), the entire site is a graphic designer's goldmine. The best part is the Flash-built interactive navigation which allows you to browse and cross-reference entries by publication date and category—to reduce 3,269 down to 24 specific entries in a matter of three-four clicks... and even lets your lightbox your favorites. (It's only really missing the best selections in interactive design, but that's why you are here, right?) Pretty... no, very damn cool.... More

brnr

brnrAn experimental work, this site touches upon many interesting aspects of web design - simple design, great animated iconography, experimental navigations. The variety of styles mingle together with fanciful interface exploration to string together an interesting thread of discoveries. Enjoy the ambiguity and openness, since the content on this site is not so info-heavy as to demand absolute navigational clarity and orthodox solutions. Explore without pretentions.... More
