Whether in print or online, it is, as ever, a cynical, provocative but unbiased look at the world, and the way we live in it, using big pictures and few words. Powered with Shockwave and Flash.
Through clean and thoughtful design, the COLORS site matches, and in some situations surpasses the beauty and delicate balance of news and imagery presented in the real magazine.
The main page of the COLORS site works as a permanent backdrop, working tables to match any monitor size or resolution. Each issue is launched in its own java window over the backdrop and a variety of interfaces allow the user to navigate through the stories, encouraging the user to reveal the content rather than just simply handing it to them. The site reqiuires shockwave/flash for viewing.
Created by the New Media Department at Fabrica, It. Art Direction by Oliviero Toscani. All design and programming was executed by Steve Bowden [US], Spencer Higgins [US], Tom Hobbs [UK], and Lloyd I4 Thomas [UK], and all of the imagery and content is direct from the magazine.
Font selection - Franklin Gothic condensed and Avenier Book (Trade Gothic to replace Franklin in future issues).
