They specialize in identity design, DVD/CD-Roms and they seem especially proficient in creating clean, uncluttered web site designs for their clients... usually in Flash... and usually for the advertising agencies, marketing firms and audio designers who are too busy making their own magic to bother with making their own web sites... EMéS is the small, but sweet, textured portfolio of a young and upcoming interactive designer Matthew Soriano. There's just something attractive and different about this page that jumps out at us. We've always been fans of simulated texture on the screen, and the smart use of colors, type and a fabric background just works well together here. We wish that the theme reflected the work content of this designer more closely (meaning we were a little surprised he did not design clothes or jeans!) but overall, it's eye-catching and interesting, and that alone gets our zipper moving.... Very refreshing and larger than life, this full-on Flash portfolio is the home of multidiscipliary designer Nessim Higson. Multidisciplinary; that means he rocks at print as much as he does at new media work... and typography, and t-shirts, and posters, and identities, and well... pretty much everything! All the work is really progressive, using hand-drawn fonts and type—some with collage assembly, but some with clean and contemporary designs that are sophisticated, yet bursting with color and composition.
