Conor & David

Conor & DavidOne thing we can say for certain is that Conor is taller than David. Oh yes, and that Conor Nolan and David Wall are designers working on print and interactive projects in Dublin, Ireland... And that they do some nice print and poster work... And also that they are good designers with a flair for minimalism and simplicity... What else can we say? Well, perhaps that you should go see their straightforward design studio portfolio for yourself and (sort of) see who these guys really are.... More

John C. Olsen Portfolio

John C. Olsen PortfolioHere's a young graphic design student hailing from Norway with his new portfolio. John presents us with a very classic and usable web design that showcases his rather small, but professional scope of design work, from posters to identity design, photography and a couple web projects. But as a student, it's not the quantity but the quality, and ultimately, his understanding of typography, color and navigation that makes this design portfolio work exceptionally well. Young students, look and learn!... More

Vertica

VerticaLike many designers from Brazil, the design work in this personal portfolio of Bruno Costa has a very strong visual element, with bold color choices and clean type implementations. We really liked the Flash built right-hand nav that simply allows you to 'mouse-scroll' through projects rather than the standard 'click-scroll'. And similar to other young emerging designers, the interactive and design work is modern feeling, with a little bit of a trendy lean (skulls, Rorschach-style blots and popular type), but we love it. Great stuff inside.... More

Redbloc

RedblocRedbloc is a Communist-era-themed web site for a small interactive studio that produces some very nice original work. The site introduces you to some very ironically cute communist characters and illustrations, framed by detailed 'kartuschki' - those delicate Eastern European floral patterns. However, Redblock is actually based in Singapore, and illustrations aside, specializes in creating very beautiful solutions for web and print design, as found in their portfolio area. A very healthy balance of great work and playfull drawings.... More

UnkemptStudio

UnkemptStudioTechnically, Unkempt is the art direction, design and internet division of AllYourPrey UK, which specializes in creative photography. What that simply means is that Unkempt - essentially one man - builds all the online sites for the photo projects of Prey, and is cheifly responsible for illustrating smooshy, smokey, and occasionally flowery graphics onto the art photos that Prey directs. Together, the trio of designers (from both firms) join to make moody, yet beautiful ephemeral creations and technically beautiful web sites that evoke a sultry air of sex and fashion. Elegant and clean work.... More

Hello Hikimori

Hello HikimoriHello indeed. And what a welcome! Hello Hikimori is a tight-knit French design studio focusing on "global new media design". As you might expect, this means mostly web, print and motion design, and includes everything from a luxury cosmetics site to designer t-shirts. For a two person studio, HKI pumps out some really amazing print work. But what really struck us is the inspiring Flash-based design of their portfolio. The site establishes a new paradigm for interaction by mimicking a browser, with a right scroller, yet throws in some really sexy details. It's really fun to play with, very sticky, and we predict that this type of design will be copied by many other companies in the future. Truly novel thinking and interaction that sets the bar higher for all portfolio websites to come.... More

Drew Flaherty

Drew FlahertyAn engrossing showcase of photo-illustrated design, wispy graphics, explosive compostions and the random skull, graffiti tag, or rainbow next to a beautiful model. Sure it's trendy, and nothing you haven't really seen before... or is it? On closer inspection, the work of Drew Flaherty goes an extra step, breathing in more detail into each inch of design, and producing a rich tapestry of different styles that together evoke quite a beautiful, mystical quality. Who needs substance when you can have visual satisfaction and a lingering emotion that makes you think, je ne sais quoi? There are nuggets in this mountain of multidiscipliary work... you just have to dig deeper.... More

Philippe Archontakis

Philippe ArchontakisYou would be hard pressed to remove any more items from this clean minimal Flash portfolio presenting branding and web work from this Montreal based Art Director. Clearly, Phillipe's strength lies in designing identities, logos, and collateral for his clients... And you could even say his forte is "the boss", meaning the embossing feature found in many of his business cards. But don't let that overshadow (pun intended) his solid screen designs which display a strong talent for Flash programming, animation, and interface design.... More

Ashi Portfolio

Ashi PortfolioCrisp, clean and designed from head-to-toe, Ashi (the illustrator behind Football Heros) gives us one of our favorite overall portfolio designs. The wood-based veneer from this gifted illustrator displays a set of small interactive sketchbooks that we can easily flip through to sample some fantastic illustrations, print work, font design, drawings and more. It's so perfect - it immediately gives us an idea of his talent - it's almost like a package where the wrapping is just as good as the contents... We don't even want to undo the ribbon.... More

Dusan Jelesijevic Portfolio

Dusan Jelesijevic PortfolioA bit sparse on information, a bit bare, but this portfolio of a student from Serbia and Montenegro features some great logo work. Now, while identity design reveals a lot about a designer's style, you can't leave Dusan's site without also sampling his poster designs and his unique illustrations. A very rich, informative portfolio... just not with words, but with great images.... More

Keikei Digital Design A refined site for a true digital designer, who creates art projects combined with research in the fields of social networks, information mashup, technology and design. Generally, German-based Kalle Kormann conducts a daily search for digital visualisation possibilities in digital environments, network structures, and he investigates ways to mesh up data and squeeze more meaning out of the web.
