Idiot Copenhagen

Idiot Copenhagen.comAnyone who names themselves (or their portfolio) an "idiot", definitely gets our immediate attention and respect. Because this is a man who knows it's always better to beat the critics to the punch, and take the wind out of their sails. But we're not here to critique, but to praise the new portfolio of Danish illustrator and designer Kasper Ledet. Certainly, we'd be stupid not to recommend these great pop-art illustrations, sketches and designs influenced by anatomy, plants, everyday symbols and abstract systems.... More

Brenb

BrenbA funky portfolio of illustrations and comics from a man who takes his illustrations seriously... (long awkward pause ala Borat) NOT! Each of Brenbs' colored drawings usually have something funny and odd about them. A regular participant with Candy Magazine, "Brenb" has a solid list of editiorial and printed works for firms and magazine in Dublin, Ireland and beyond. We liked his custom PSP covers for SONY (see thumbnail).... More

Hello Color

Hello ColorA great name for this indy illustrator's portfolio pages, Hello Color provides just what you'd expect... An explosion of bright colorful forms and designs saturated with only the richest blends of eye-popping color. For many, full color is not always an easy medium to achieve solid results in, but this designer soaks it in and spits it out in visually absorbing, and tasteful ways, often combining 3D type and photos with additions that really work, for us. madeforyou

madeforyou (everyday)A swirly and somewhat squirrely style marks the style of doodle-full Richard Arifin, born in Jakarta in 1984. Upon graduation from one the most prestigious design schools in Indonesia, Bina Nusantara University, Richard started his career as a young graphic designer at ThinkingRoom - a Jakarta based Ideation Company where in a few short years, he has become art director. However, as an artist, most of his artworks resemble vivid colors, cubes, and psychedelic forms that are fed by inspirations from everyday life.... More

Leif Parsons

Leif ParsonsSeems that Brooklyn, artists and being slightly eccentric go hand-in-hand, but trust us when we say this, it doesn't always meet up with brilliant individual observations like it does under the hat of this accomplished illustrator. Leif, creator of the complex one man brand - namely, the Leif Parsons identity - is a unique entity... and really someone to be explored and experienced rather than read about... So what are you still doing here?... More

Audrey Kawasaki

Audrey KawasakiApparently 'bedroom eyes' are the Digitalthread of the day, as can be explored in the themes in Audrey Kawasaki's illustrated and painted works of both innocent and erotic women. Audrey's precise technical style - influenced by both manga comics and Art Nouveau - draws us to a subject that is attractive yet subtely disturbing. Sharp graphic imagery of soft forms combined with the natural grain of the wood panels she paints on, bring a certain warmth to this curious, sensual and enigmatic subject matter. 'Njoy.... More

Stella Im Hultberg

Stella Im HultbergPersonally, illustration doesn't get sexier than some of Stella's instantly arousing lush ink and oil paintings on tea-stained paper -- and it won't matter if you are male or female. Her pouty lipped little ladies in leggings almost breath with a sort of sultry passion and curiosity that simply leave us wanting more. And there are certainly several to see in the same style... but who could want for less of something so lovely? Not us... definitely not us!... More

Telegramme studio

Telegramme studioTelegramme is a pretty cool little design and illustration partnership specialising in silk screen printing of posters and patterns. Initially a collaboration working via the postal service, Telegramme snowballed in to a fully fuctional studio thanks to a mutual love of music, art and the receiving of post. We really liked their gritty mixed up illustration style that balances old vintage images with new computer design techniques - which coalesces nicely in their afore-mentioned poster and pattern designs. Cool stuff.... More

E'motive ProjectHailing "Hola" from Spain, E'motive Project is a professional multidisciplinary studio based in Cádiz. Mixing different creative fields as art and illustration projects, animation and graphic design for print, the E'motive personell create a diverse range of work that spans across many different styles... but usually has an edgy, urban and decidedly upbeat appeal. Lots of fun work in a strong portfolio, we especially liked their exhibit onoplastica - an illustrated interpretation of Christian iconography.... More

Eduardo Bertone

Eduardo BertoneI once knew a graffiti artist who never stopped drawing in his black book until every inch of white space was covered. Eduardo's rough and doodly sketches, scenes, paintings and art kind of remind me of that kind of obsessiveness. It's driven by a desire to create and express and have fun and make the most of every experience. And the results are the fantastic layered mixed media pieces Eduardo brings to life. But now here's the kicker... Unique as Eduardo's work is... There's a twin brother out there with a similar style producing just as much work, and his name is Rafael Bertone (http://www.rafabertone.com).... More

Andrew Rae

Andrew RaeThe thing we like most about posting up a tasty illustration site on the holidays; digging into the deep quirky mind of an good illustrator is like reaching into a never-ending stocking stuffer, or a spinning a 26-sided dradle... You always come up with some kind of golden goodie! Especially so in this portfolio of Andrew Rae from the UK, who specializes in compositions of characters, animals and people in unconventional and fantastic situations. He also has a thing for electronic audio equipment, knobs and buttons. Dig in, because this full-time illustrating elf doesn't skimp on the giving all year 'round.... More
