He currently works in graphic design, art direction, moving image, music writing, remixing, installations and performance arts. In the "design world", he has created many iconic and classic record cover sleeves, bus is also just as well known in the "music world" for his eclectic remixes and his record label OUTPUT, and in turn, he creates most of the artwork for the musical artists on the label. Marian Bantjes

Marian BantjesA typographer and illustrator extraordinaire, Marian's work harks back to the ornamental styles of illustrated manuscripts and hand-crafted type. Reminiscent of the days when crafts-persons really went through the painstaking details of, well, creating painstaking details! Marian combines great line work and flourishes with an exacting eye for type forms to make unique and invaluable typography and art.... More

SuperBlast

SuperBlastSuperBlast is Manuel Osterholt, a young Berlin based freelance graphic designer and graffiti writer working on corporate design, graphic art, fonts and web design. His style is shaped by his lifestyle background: hiphop, punk rock and skateboarding, and he contributes his illustrations and artwork to related cultural projects and brands. Modern

Modern | Grafisch Ontwerp Modern, or 'Almost Modern', is a small graphic design studio located in the Netherlands. Essentially a poster portfolio born from a collaboration between two designers, their work represents a very minimal, contemporary style - borrowing liberally from Bauhaus and Swiss - that uses typography, words and usually no more than a single color to evoke the simplicity and beauty of pure type. Like most posters and art work, one should allow the pieces to speak for themselves, and then follow your thoughts.... More

Ryan Santos

Ryan SantosApparently back from a 6 year web hiatus (as if that was possible) this primarily print, poster designer and illustration artist has blessed us online folks with a nice spread of graphic designs. The showcase poster prints from his recent solo art show in Nov. 2005 are really funny, and with a few corporate-ish projects sprinkled in between, we are given a nice taste of what this unique type artist has to offer... Which only makes us more eager to see what else comes down the pipeline now that Ryan has come back into the fold - hopefully for a little while longer!... More

Damien Correll

Damien CorrellReady, Set, Internet! So begins the adventure into the outstanding typography, print and graphic work from this young Philadelphia designer. Best described as hand-drawn and kinda chunky (his work, not Damien), he seems like a natural at creating fun and friendly type design which is beautifully applied to record covers, magazine illustrations and generally fills pages in your friend's zine with art. Treading the broad line beween crafty and hip, this work shows a great deal of originality with a hands-on approach and a new wave edge.... More

Kindness and Humility

Kindness and HumilityIn the work and not work of Chris Erickson, we don't find a lot not to love... (pause, absorb). Yes, his work is really nice. And we totally dig the compressed minimalist Flash UI—it gives us a very easy framework from which to view a showcase of his print, identity, packaging and industrial design talents. Set into a grey background, the web and print projects really pop, yet they all still fit snugly on a laptop screen. Now, getting back to the work, it's important that you also don't sleep on the "not work" (play) which unveils a compassionate and down-to-earth side to this talented multimedia designer. Great stuff there, not here.... More

Skwiot Smith

Skwiot Smithskwiot/smith is a small graphic art and design studio based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The work revolves around a smattering of many projects - from print, identity and collateral materials to CD designs, books, posters and websites. Essentially, this is a one person studio, and skwiot/smith is actually Peter Skwiot Smith... which tells us a little about the artist himself: He enjoys producing minimal, yet beautiful abstract works that are sprinkled with a distinct esoteric quality.... 959 design

959 designA nice portfolio website portraying graphic design work completed by Alphonso Savio, a naturally talented student who is currently doing his MFA in graphic design at California State University. Nothing too fancy here, just a lot of solid graphic design work; posters, identity, packaging and editorial design being the strongest of the bunch. One should definitely check out his work on Snooze magazine, but especially design of his award winning awareness posters over the war in Kashmir.... More
