Acrylick

From Madrid -- hot, sweaty, sexy, slow long looks through a thick fringe of dark eyelashes. The barest hint of smile is offered, till YOU smile -- then --!! The flash of sharp white teeth. That's Acrylick. You can spend hours on their website; it weaves childlike and phallic images without apology. Amazing use of color and iconography. Some annoying typos and English language glitches (fair warning for the NARROW-MINDED), but absolutely nothing is lost in the translation. Very, very cool. And, ah, did we mention hot and sweaty? And sexsexsexy? Go now. Sweat.... Read more

B-Reel

B-ReelB-Reel is a Swedish full motion and interactive design company that puts the activity in creativity. Bang Bang

Bang Bang is still quite new, and already the client list is a who's who of big names in the entertainment industry. Most of their work is in motion graphics -- lots of nifty little films, all at their site for your viewing enjoyment. They have, however, branched out into print -- and they seem especially proud of their design for a magazine called TEASE, which they have excerpted online. The title is appropriate. 18 and over, please. We're glad we are.... Read more

Beehive

Since 1994, the buzz about Beehive is the work produced is as sweet as honey, and just as alluring...so much so that upcoming nest.tv has become another hive of symbiotic activity. Their silhouette style pops with the bright inquisitive colors that would attract both person and inspecting insects alike. Interactions include their silhouette profile page and a sophisticated reel that belies the cutting edge of the company. Expect the reverberations of this heightened hive to increase to swarming levels when unleashed the ad market.... Read more

Blind

Are you blind? If so, my apologies (and how are you reading this?) If not, treat your eyes to a delectable visual feast. Their unseen influence is wielded in TV commercials (Nike’s “Rocketman”) as well as music videos (Jet’s astonishing “Be My Girl”). Providing a peek into their studio might relay a glimmer of inspiration for a visionary firm.... Read more

Charlie Company

Creating a brand imprint for a product is one thing, but for a TV show? That's like creating history, and we suppose that's what Charlie Company does, since they've created intros for such shows as...Celebrity Mole and Joe Schmoe. (Okay, so it's not exactly the opening credits to M*A*S*H.) Charlie takes design, applies it to branding, adds some motion, stirs it all up, and produces 'conceptually motivated ideas with contemporary and progressive design.' In other words, nifty commercials that stick in your head.... Read more

Cisma

CismaCisma bridges the gap between fine art and commerce with a refreshing emphasis on the former. Their concise web site employs an elegant and nearly impenetrable font. And we wish they'd lend us that giant Hammer & Tongs-ish stuffed tooth that adorns their site's illustration gallery -- that thing is freakin' cute.... Read more

Conclave Obscurum

Conclave ObscurumPhotographic fantasmagoria at its finest. A prelude to a newly-redesigned website offers enough weird eye candy and interactive video vignettes to keep the most discerning surrealist smiling -– albeit in a twitchy, mentally-deranged sort of way. Simply put: these folks offer fine examples of twisted art. We can only hope the Slipknot CDs and prints of René Magritte (yes, there is an alternative to Dali) can keep us tweaking until Conclave Obscurum III comes along.... Read more

dixonbaxi

dixonbaxiIt's always a bit of a shame when an über talented design firm has a live website that does little justice to their work. But sometimes it's just a fact that they crank out so much outstanding work in their other mediums, they have zero free time to spend on their web presence and all they can do is post jpegs of their projects! Such is the case at dixonbaxi, a London based design and directing team formed by two award winning directors. If you've ever turned on a TV, you've seen their work, which has included such wonders as "helping MTV find its balls again" to the onscreen graphics of Formula 1 racing sports. Truly, not enough can be said about the work of this duo, and perhaps enough has already been said. Check out the work, and let the images do the talking.... Read more
